Gift of Opportunity
“In forty days, you’ll perish.”
That was enough. The people believed God, and the king called for a fast.
No food. No water. Not even for the animals.
That’s what urgent obedience looks like.
🌾 The Seed
“But both man and beast must be covered with sackcloth, and let men call on God earnestly that he may turn from his wicked way and from the violence which is in his hands.” — Jonah 3:8
Repentance isn’t just internal—it’s public. It’s action.
The city was spared because they believed the Word and moved quickly.
📖 The Word
Isaiah 55:6–7 says:
“Seek the Lord while He may be found… return to the Lord, and He will have compassion… for He will abundantly pardon.”
Psalm 130:1 says:
“Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord.”
He’s not looking for perfect people. He’s listening for honest ones.
🧠 The Shift
The act of naming our sin and taking action triggers the anterior cingulate cortex, a region responsible for behavior change and emotional regulation.
The brain actually processes repentance as a path toward peace, clarity, and long-term decision-making.

🛠 The Build
Today, choose one area of your life where you’ve been ignoring the warning signs.
Fast—whether from food, distraction, or excuses.
Call on God earnestly, not just emotionally.
Turn now. Don’t delay.
🔊 The Speak
“I am given grace. I am given opportunity. I return to God while there’s still time.”
